We collect for free. Even just one.
Free e-waste collection, GDPR-compliant data destruction certificates, and responsible recycling for Bristol businesses. No minimum, no hassle, no risk.
The question your auditor will ask
"Can you show me your data destruction certificate for the IT equipment you disposed of?"
If you can't answer that, you have a GDPR compliance gap. Under UK GDPR the maximum penalty is £17.5 million or 4% of worldwide annual turnover — and inadequate IT disposal is increasingly in the ICO's sights.
We give you the certificate. Free collection and from £8 per device.
How It Works
Book online or call. We come to your Bristol office — even for a single device — and take everything away.
Every data-bearing device is certified wiped or physically destroyed. You get an individual GDPR certificate per device.
Viable equipment is refurbished. Everything else is processed at a licensed WEEE treatment facility with full digital waste tracking — targeting maximum material recovery, not landfill.
Services
Why Basecamp Tech
National WEEE companies typically require 10–20+ items. We'll collect one laptop if that's all you've got.
Not just wiping — individual certificates per device with serial numbers. What the ICO actually wants to see.
Most 'Bristol' WEEE services are national companies with local SEO pages. We're an independent Bristol business — not a call centre, not a franchise.
8+ years in IT service management. We understand your equipment, your data, and your Microsoft 365 setup — not just your bins.
Paper waste transfer notes were replaced by mandatory digital tracking on 1 April 2026. We're already set up for it.
Disposal, data destruction, and ongoing IT support — from one Bristol provider. Most WEEE companies stop at collection.

A New Bristol Business
Basecamp Tech is a new Bristol ITAD business founded by Josh. After 8+ years working in IT across Bristol law firms, schools and MSPs, Josh set it up to offer local businesses a properly compliant disposal option with a real human on the other end — not a national call centre.
We're Environment Agency registered as a waste carrier (CBDU509608), NIST 800-88 Rev 2 compliant on data destruction, and already using the UK Digital Waste Tracking service that became mandatory on 1 April 2026. What we're not is a large business pretending to have a long track record — we're straightforward about being new, and we'd rather earn your first collection than oversell.

About
Basecamp Tech is a Bristol-based IT and WEEE specialist founded by Josh, a DBS-checked IT professional with 8+ years of hands-on experience across device lifecycle management, data security, and IT infrastructure — working with Bristol law firms, schools, MSPs, and businesses of all sizes.
We started Basecamp Tech because the businesses we worked with all had the same problem: cupboards full of old laptops, no clear route for proper disposal, and real anxiety about data compliance. Too small for the national WEEE companies. Too busy to figure it out on their own.
So we built something better. Free collection, NIST 800-88 Rev 2 compliant data destruction, responsible recycling — handled properly, every time. One call, full compliance, zero stress. Bristol-based and Bristol-focused.
Social Value
Viable devices get a second life — most are refurbished and resold as quality second-hand kit. Where it makes sense, we can also arrange donations to Bristol schools, community groups, or charities. Either way, nothing goes to waste.
Where suitable, refurbished laptops can be donated to local schools and community groups — just let us know if you'd like your kit to go this route.
Quality devices are professionally refurbished and resold as reliable second-hand kit — fully wiped, tested, and warrantied.
What can't be refurbished is processed through a licensed WEEE treatment facility that recovers metals, plastics and other materials for reuse — our aim is zero landfill.
Want to know where your kit goes? If your equipment is donated, we can tell you which organisation received it and provide a confirmation letter for your CSR or ESG reporting.
